MODELLING TURBULENCE IN OPEN CELL ALUMINUM FOAM HEAT EXCHANGER

ACTA TECHNICA NAPOCENSIS - Series: APPLIED MATHEMATICS AND MECHANICS, 4(No. 56 - Vol. IV), 10 (2013) .

Abstract

This paper contains a brief description of modeling turbulent flow through open-cell aluminum foam heat exchanger, focusing on the mesh and boundary conditions constraints. Different turbulence models are available in FLUENT and methods of specifying turbulent boundary conditions. Solution strategies and tips for converged turbulent flow cases are also covered.
